Assessment of AI digital innovation launch readiness & resolution of access barriers in China

Assessment of AI digital innovation launch readiness & resolution of access barriers in China

Goal

Our client was preparing for a launch as first entrant into a rare disease with high occurrence of late or misdiagnoses. An innovative AI Digital Diagnosis Tool was prioritized as a strategic initiative critical to supporting earlier diagnosis at launch.

The global team selected China due to the ability to collect big health data and country willingness, vast rural areas to identify patients and strong in-house/3rd-party AI skills. As part of a broader launch excellence project, we needed to define the requirements, patient experience & readiness plan for the AI solution.

Approach

Study the current patient journey in China

Identify the key pain points and outline tactics to resolve these pain points

Design the ideal patient experience

With the AI Digital Diagnosis Tool to support earlier diagnosis and access to the best available care

Design and co-create the strategy and plan the pilot with local stakeholders

A thorough pilot would embed the solution with leading Chinese centers of excellence

  • We provided the global team with a clear plan containing specific mitigation strategies to support China affiliate's launch
  • We gave a structured and complete view of the patient journey in China, including present access barriers or “pain points” and the ideal patient experience of the best available care
  • We compiled specific patient guidance and solutions to support early diagnosis and access to the best available care
  • We established a short-, mid- and long-term plan to collaborate with Chinese stakeholders in the design, implementation and optimization of AI diagnosis models
The global team had clear objectives in China
