COVID-19 drives digitalization of consumption - Digitally integrated patient journeys on the rise.
Already in April 2019, a survey found that patients prefer phone consulations over face-to-face appointments. Among 213'000 patients from 21 practices in the UK, 47% chose a phone consultation in a clinical episode.
Exactly 1 year later, in April 2020, 2 different surveys show a clear acceleration of this trend (Sources: Sermo COVID-19 Healthcare Practitioner Survey and Survey by the European Alliance for Personalized Medicine).
Digital health being a more central part of health systems after COVID-19 is seen as:
- Somewhat likely (30%)
- Very likely (43%)
- Definitely likely (26%)
