Defining a digital health pricing strategy for diabetes care

Goal

Digital health solutions are becoming more prominent also within traditional pharma companies, but they require different pricing and commercialization approaches compared to conventional drugs. We were tasked with defining a pricing, packaging and go-to-market strategy for a modular software solution that would account for future evolution of solutions and limited available evidence at time of launch.

Approach

Definition of a concept

Define an initial concept by tailoring value propositions & solution packages to target customer archetypes based on desk research and internal expertise 

Multi-stakeholder ThinkTank & payer validation

Bring in expert perspectives from different sectors/ backgrounds to evolve the initial concept and validate the packaging & pricing strategy with payers

Development of a strategic pricing guidance

Develop a step-by-step guidance for Affiliates to support the definition of their local pricing, packaging & go-to-market strategy

  • ThinkTank input helped broaden clients’ thinking to consider innovative models for pricing of their solutions
  • Payer engagement identified local considerations for tailoring value propositions and pricing strategy
